Hi, girls! Haven't been here in ages--vacation, catching up with work/Rooftop, sick hubby (now better).
I really liked this story a lot, Joyce. (Of course, I like all your stories.) In this one, you managed a good mix of the personal and the procedural. Also, as I said on the Rooftop, I appreciated the humor you sprinkled in. The credit card conversation was priceless!
I agree with you Joyce. Jacob probably didn't know what he had and didn't want to, either. They never really want to know, do they, the big babies! I'm quite mindful of my own recent experiences with hubby and Numbat's eloquent and timely plea for understanding of the male mind, so I'm just kidding about the "babies" part. Mostly. But I do think many men are so afraid that it's something deadly serious that they just would rather not know, even a man as intelligent as Jacob.
(Whereas I, as an intelligent, sensible woman, do the only logical thing there is to do when I think, for example, I may be having a stroke. I look it up on the Internet.

)
I'm looking forward to a sequel covering the recuperation period, if you get around to it. I think that nurses outfit Numbat suggested could come into play somewhere, don't you?
