He definitely gets better with time and practice. It's kind of funny just how great the improvement is between those first two and the later books featuring Robert Langdon... maybe he just needed to get the right character. Or just stop writing books over a woman's shoulder, maybe?

This one isn't remotely scientific or tragic, but it does fall very, VERY far into the 'WTF?' category. China is opening the world's first sex=themed theme park.

No, that is not a typo. A sex-themed park. Read all about it - it's good for a 'huh??!'

The first word that came to my mind was actually 'weird,' but whichever.

Well, that could've been something to talk about at EH, right?

Sarah, I finished Angels and Demons... Have you seen the movie already?
I'm thinking of going next Monday.

Want to discuss it?

I haven't gotten to the movie yet, life is a bit hectic, particularly given that it's Memorial Day weekend and work is a zoo. However, I am going to give seeing it my best shot within the next week or two - now that all my shows have wrapped for the SEASON (and only the season, I fully expect EH to be back on the air by late fall at worst) it's not like I have anything better to do with my evenings.

Well, aside from writing... but I'm working on that, too. ;)

Sarah Palin is the spawn of Hell. Particularly to someone (like myself) who respects the value of life and nature.... the woman is a demon. And that's an insult to some demons.

As for this preventative imprisonment.... this is not what I thought Obama was. I sincerely hope it's being blown out of both context and proportion, because otherwise, he fooled us all.

Yeah... I didn't bother reading all of it (hey, doesn't really affect me), but there ARE some youtube videos posted and transcripts of them...

Totally came as a shock to me too. Damn. Did NOT see that one coming!

Y'know, I'd ask if there's anyone in the world who liked Palin, but, well, I ran into a few. (And even some that said that Palin was the reason why they voted for McCain and that they were undecided until she came along...) The rest of us were so mind boggled we didn't even bother trying to explain why she really shouldn't be pres/vp... I mean, what's the point? She was pretty clearly chosen because she's young and female.

I wonder what causes this one? It's a genetic disorder that causes all of the internal organs to be placed or developed incorrectly, or multiplied. (How on Earth do you wind up with five spleens?)

They have two hearts, not five spleens!

This one isn't exactly a headline unless you're an avid fan of avians, but it's still quite interesting. Who knew rooks were so clever?

Tom said they had extra stomachs too! Mmmm redundant organs...

Huh, Memory Alpha says that Klingons have one, eight chambered heart. And three lungs.

God I love that site.

Also... that rook is SO CUTE! And smart, <3

I never could get that heart thing straight.... So how many chambers does B'Elanna's heart have? Six, split the difference?

I was actually trying to remember what they said about Worf when he got injured and needed that surgery. Dang. I need to have a TNG marathon apparently....

I need to WATCH TNG. I'm still on s1.

As for the hybrid thingy... I'm not sure. A lot of my Trek canon is mixed with Trek fanon so I'm not always an accurate source of info, hence the frequent checking of Memory Alpha.

Soooo... The Mentalist was voted best new show of 2008-2009 and Simon Baker was voted sexiest man.

Well, I have to disagree, since I think the best new show was Eleventh Hour and the sexiest man is Rufus Sewell.

And The Mentalist has the sexiest cast? What about Marley Shelton? Are they blind?
I believe TM is the most boring show of last fall. That's my opinion.

Read for yourselves http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090528/tv_nm/us_poll

Someone agrees with me?

I know, have you seen the cast? The women dress like men! Both of them!
Marley has elegance and she's very femenine.
And do I need to say something about Rufus?
