I don't think of it as lying, but rather as his "shtick" to worm his way into people's confidence. I felt that there was always an insincere quality to those things he said about himself, like he was acting, and I think the Omar himself is a decent actor, so that was an acting choice, if that makes any sense.

We do know that Felix is a 6 foot 6 "mouse".

 True, true.

We also know that he begged the director to be assigned to Hood and Rachel.

And that he's good at that digital/technology stuff that the young people ;) are so fond of these days (sending directions wirelessly to Rachel's gps, etc).

He also likes sticky notes!

And I think he's bullshitting with everything he says to the people he's interrogating... well, he's probably telling half truths - it's easier to lie if you're also telling some truths.

Sticky notes? Which ep was that from?

And, Nikki, amazingly enough, some people just don't like to lie, yanno.

"Subway", remember? Felix says he likes the sticky notes and Rachel ask Hood what he thinks (about the case) and he thinks about the sticky notes and smiles and says he likes them cause you can stick them on anything. Gotta love it!

Do I have to make the 'they're not airing it' argument again?

As for the lying... I follow the House rule - everyone lies.

The 'they're not airing it' falls VERY firmly into the category of DUH, so no, not at the moment.

And House is a cynic. There are honest people in the world, they're just very few and far between. Not to mention he wouldn't recognize one if it bit him in the arse, given that he's a shade shy of being a pathological liar himself.

I was just thinking about Hood (of course) and I realized that, even though he's recognized as a genius, his schooling was not apparently modified to reflect that. He mentions a high school term paper and prom and was apparently the normal age (doubtful that, say, a 13 year old prodigy would go to prom, and didn't he mention he was 16 when he almost drowned?). So his schooling doesn't seem to have been accelerated.

 Not chronologically perhaps, but technologically, things change so quickly now.... My teenager tells me that message boards, emails, IMs, and chatrooms are hopelessly outdated (she doesn't use the term "old school," which she tells me only old people trying to look cool but failing miserably use). I think as soon as middle aged folks like me figure a technology out, whatever it is becomes uncool and therefore must be replaced.

(trying not to laugh TOO loudly) You wanna know something funny? My mother and my grandmother both have new-gen iPod Touches. The only reason I have an iPod at all - and it's a Nano, not a Touch -is because my very wonderful Boss gave it to me for Christmas. I still haven't set it up.

Also, while Mom and Gram both have Facebook accounts, you couldn't pay me enough to put myself on a 'social networking site'.

So, it's not exclusively an age thing. (I'm 24, in case you were wondering!)

You haven't set up your ipod? I LOVE my ipod! It's how I get Rufus to motivate me while I work out and whisper in my ear when I have insomnia.

Glad to know I'm more technologically advanced than at least one youngster! Thanks for making an old woman happy. (I'm mid 40s, sometimes feel like mid 70s and sometimes like mid teens).

Trying to get back on topic (but failing miserably): Hood looks adorable holding a baby.

On-topic? What for? Er, I mean, right!

Uh, okay, staying with Pinocchio, Rachel likes a glass of Italian red....or three! :D

This is actually going all the way back to Resurrection, but Hood is apparently an atheist, although he doesn't object to using other people's religion against them to achieve his needs. (Clip Reff: Liar!)

However, he was probably raised in an at least semi-religious environment, because when he wakes up after his trip in H2O, his response to Rachel handing him the coffee is 'Bless you." (Clip Reff: Good Morning)

Isn't bless you just a turn of phrase, though?

On a broader point, I believe that Hood was raised in a Christian (I was gunna write Catholic there, but that's probably just projecting) household. I mean, his rant in that church was pretty specific, y'know? And his miracle hatred... and didn't he ramble on about God in that one as well? I don't think he believes anymore, at least. It may have been Maggie's death that did religion in for him.

I agree completely, Nikki. This is what I thought went down with him. Death will do that to you.

On a lighter note....SG? You there? Are we right?

Aye, death either reaffirms ones belief in God or completely shatters it, it seems. Depends on your outlook on life, really.

I think shattering it is more common, particularly if you were praying for someone's survival and did not have those prayers answered. Let's just say I understand that one *real* well.

I'd say it's more common too, but some people go crazy religious after such an event in their lives. Everyone wants answers and some people manage to find it in God.

I mean, pretty much the entire purpose of (Christian) life is to get into heaven (and procreate to make more Christians) so, logically speaking, the religion is based off of trying to explain the great mystery - what happens when you die. Some people take comfort in the belief of an afterlife.

Me? I dunno - I'm too young to be concerned with such things >:3

Wow, I love this thread. Too bad I'm too late!

I don't know if this has been said before but it looks like Rachel enjoys rain and lightning.

And Hood likes Cradle of Filth!

YES! Forgot that one. Beginning of "Subway" right? I love when Rachel says "You're joking, right?" and he just totally ignores her and goes into "Hood mode".
