I have been working on something else, but unfortunately (by your estimation, at least, ), it's another Bleach story, sorry. That one, however, is only two chapters and will be posted shortly.

No, no, no, I meant work on something not only non-Bleach, but something you really don't care about. So that means obviously no EH! See, I told you this wasn't an evil plot to get you back writing EH. When you write just to write, it can sometimes free up your mind when you get back to what you care about. Sort of freeing up your subconscious by forcing your consious mind to work on something else.

I'll be in Lynchburg in March. Maybe I will look you up.

Do! It would be great to have a chance to meet you. (laughs) By then I should have a few EH stories to bounce off of you, too.

That would be cool - I'll be in touch closer to the date.

That's my problem - I care about everything I write! Even my absurd, off-the-wall, total-WTF crack fics, I care about. Mostly I care that they go away and leave me alone, but still, I care.

(I never *try* to write crack. It sneaks up and ambushes me when I'm not looking.)

Usually when I hit a roadblock, it's only for a particular story - if I go with one train of thought for too long, it gets a little bogged down, so if I go to a different story (even if it's within the same series), I can usually get unstuck. I've only had really serious writer's block (as in, stare at the computer for two hours, manage to type two sentences that don't even make sense and I'm forced to delete) a couple of times in my life, and would be quite content if that remains the sum total of my experience with it.

It usually comes around when I'm trying *not* to write a specific story (sometimes I get ambushed by a plot bunny I just do not want to deal with - usually character death ones), so I'll try to avoid that particular story. That was why I stopped writing EH fics for a while last year - had a bad bunny show up, although I think (due entirely to Latte's help) I managed to mutate it to the point I'm willing to work with it. I may still go back to it at some point in the future.... it's angst, but redeemable angst.

Ok, I'm actually getting fascinated by this story. Don't get all the references,but I get the gist of it, and it's quite, quite, good. I think I like these people!

Bleach is terribly addictive, , and a lot of that is the interplay of the characters. I gradually expand the focus of the story outwards to include more and more people, although Byakuya and Renji will remain at the core of it (even the title is a reference to the two of them). Kubo-san has a remarkable ability to create realistic and lovable (or at least relateable and appreciable) characters, and I can only hope I'm doing them all justice.

I have to admit that one of my favorite chapters so far is twelve, because the first half of it is written more or less from the POV of a character named Ayasegawa Yumichika. He's an effeminate, narcissistic, arrogant jerk, and he's an absolute blast to write, . http://bleach.wikia.com/wiki/Yumichika_Ayasegawa

You guys are too good to me. And hopefully I'll be getting back to EH soon (I know I've been saying that for months, but soon is getting sooner. Really.)

So glad you're enjoying it so far! RDBH will stay on a weekly update schedule (through chapter ten or so, at any rate - I may double a couple of chapters around that point because they're mostly filler and not as good..)

...well, I'm obviously doing something right if a 2,700 word chapter is 'short,' . All of the chapters in RDBH are between 2,500 - 4k words, (actually, I think only the interlude after ch 10 is 4k - the rest are shorter...) but thank you!

I love Gin (despite his sociopathic bastard-ness), so I was glad to get this chapter up. And trust me, plenty more possibilities will be in the offing, .

And those of you following via use of the Bleach Wikia might want to brush up on their Visoreds before ch 5, although only Kensei and Shinji make physical appearances.

Kubo-san is kind enough to give us the birthdays of most of his characters, so it's kind of a tradition for Bleach writers to do a little something for their fave characters on their B-days. Byakuya's happens to be today... so I gave him Renji,

(bursts out laughing) Nice to know you've picked a favorite already! And no worries, next chapter has a good bit of Renji, although it's (supposed to be) dedicated to Shuuhei.

However, it's bloody, sweaty, and in-a-hot-springs Renji, so that should satisfy you for a little bit, Bankai training is hard work, so there's plenty of sweat tracing pathways down that gloriously sculpted, tattooed flesh. (drools)

Actually, we got through it just fine. Warm is a challenge, though; the wind today is brutal, and it's not going to get above 28F. Nasty!

Although I can just imagine going and joining Renji and Shuuhei in that hot spring... that thought warms me up quite nicely,

Very nice. Starting to get addicted to this story. BUT...I did read- over the weekend -some of your old EH fanfics...Percocet, Handcuffs, and Scorned...loved them all over again! Would love another EH story out of you when you thaw out and have some time or inspiration...hint...hint...beg...beg!

I will definitely keep that in mind, I'm hitting a slow spot mentally with RDBH (not to worry about the posting schedule, though; the slow spot I hit working on ch. 16...), so switching to another genre for a week or so might help.

Sorry to hear that you got more snow - we only had 4 inches (I can't believe I just used the word only in front of 4 inches of snow!!!).

Not block so much.... just a slow spot. Still making progress in the story, but not as quickly as I was originally. (I wrote eleven chapters of it, in their entirety, in the month of December. Since the new year, I've only managed six... then again, I have been a little distracted.)

The actual amount of snow we got was minimal, the problem was the ice that accompanied it. Our road is on a hill and virtually impassable, we had one outbuilding fall down on Saturday, and it's now looking like our garage is at risk as well. (sighs) This is what we get for liking old houses so much, I suppose.

Aaaand I spent three hours plus shoveling aforementioned heavy, icy snow, and I'm going to be one head-to-foot ache in the morning. I've gotten out of shape....

Wow, complain much? (laughs) Ah, life is good. I have family, friends and fanfiction.

Edit: Okay, just to add to the general weirdness of the day... I just got a letter offering me membership to AARP.

This is very weird, because I'm twenty-five. Obviously someone needs reading glasses.....
