Contact Calendar

Postby luvinx » 30 May 2009, 21:52

THIS WEEK'S CONTACT IS AMC.

Please do not post in this thread unless your name is Kel (or Nikki) - all comments should go in the EHRC thread. Thanks! -Nikki/aethre

This thread is exclusively a tool for each of us to use when emailing/sending letters to our contacts. In order to organize and unite us a bit more, we will use this calendar as a guide to coordinate our emails and letters by date. This way, each of these networks will be getting the majority of our emails and letters during the same period of time. And, once we have gone through them all, we can just start over from the top. It will also serve to prevent any constant flooding of email inboxes. We will remain consistent and make our points together.

Below the list of dates, you will find all of the contact info for each network. This way, you can just scroll down once you have located the network you need by the date, paste in your letter and the address, and send. Or, fill out your envelope, tuck your letter in, and mail.

There is no need to go back to the EHRC thread each time either. Thanks to Annie for that suggestion! ;)

As always, any suggestions are always welcome.

So, let's get those computers and envelopes ready! ;)

Let's go! ;)

UPDATE: Hello to you all! As you know, the new seasons have started and each new and/or returning show will have only a month or two to shine before it begins its "death march". As we have discussed, this will be the time when we all will want to switch gears and really hit all the networks, especially those which seem most likely to pick up EH for its own.

In the meantime, we will continue to contact all the networks in our list, continuously illustrating our determination in bringing EH back to TV, where it belongs. At the very least, these folks have to realize by now that we are NOT going anywhere.

Thank you all for your continued hard work and persistence! Image

THIS WEEK, January 18th through January 22nd->NBC:
Saying bye-bye to primetime Leno could mean saying hello to EH! Let's go for it!

THIS WEEK, January 25th through January 29th->TNT:
One of our biggies this week. Let's remind them of their promise "We Know Drama" and challenge them to bring another wonderful, quality series to their network.

EXTRA CREDIT: Thanks to a reminder by kygal in the EHRC thread, I wanted to put her post here regarding regular contact with WB:
Just FYI...I go here <link below> once a week and leave a comment/request about EH returning to tv...drop down box to comments/questions. Not sure if it does any good but figure it never hurts. This is on the contact calender also. Would be great if anyone else has time to periodically do this.

Ok, first update here. And some of you are already aware of it.

Please go over to Amazon at this link:
http://www.amazon.com/Eleventh-Hour-Rufus-Sewell/dp/B001CTBW14/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1243607147&sr=8-1
and:
(1) Sign up for the email that notifies you when the EH DVD Season 1 comes out. Even if you do not intend to purchase from them, it is a show of support for the EH DVD sales. And, if I have learned anything from all of this, appearances are important in this industry. In addition, DVD sales have even been the reason that shows have either been resurrected from the dead, or are in serious consideration for it. Something seemingly small may make a big difference.
(2) Write a review. Many positive reviews from passionate EH lovers like ourselves could be just the thing that tips others over the edge to make the purchase. Very important.
(3) Submit any EH pics that you have.
(4) Lu started a Forum for the Campaign. Scroll down and you will see it. Go ahead and leave a reply.
The great thing about all of this is that it only takes a few minutes. And may make a big impact. Let's get to it and thank you!

Another fun update.

(1)Reminder about Amazon. Please go check out the first update, post right before this one, for all the details on what you need to do.

(2)Letter to SG was sent and I will let you all know his response as soon as I know.

(3)I changed the format of the Calendar a bit. I decreased the days per network from 3 days to 2 days. I also added, thanks to the hard work of Famke once again, contact info for the BBC. If anyone does not like the decrease in days, please let me know. I was just finding that, especially with the emails, it was taking me only 5-10 minutes to do. Obviously, having a letter prepared is a must. Any questions, please PM me or post in the EHRC thread.

(4)I wanted to personally thank our pH member who posted a wonderful message and link at the EH Facebook page. It was so great for me to go back there and see that. Nice job! ;)

Let's keep up all the good work, guys!!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to post a "mock outline" for a letter, just in case anyone needed a little help in writing theirs, needed some ideas, or just wanted to see the kind of things that others in this campaign are writing. Keep in mind that this is very rough and needs to be "filled in" with your own words and thoughts.

Dear Mr./Ms. Network Person,

First paragraph: Purpose of Letter. Explain why you are sending this. For example, you can say "I am writing to you today to request that you add Eleventh Hour to your quality lineup" or "I am sending this letter to appeal to you to acquire Eleventh Hour for your quality network". Something along those lines which you can then add to for it to have more substance.

Second paragraph: Why Eleventh Hour? This is where you can state all of EH's attractive assets.
Here are a few that have been suggested:

*Viewers were added over the first few weeks of the show's inception, and stayed consistent throughout the season.
*The audience test figures increased as the season progressed.
*EH won its time slot nearly every Thursday evening.
*Even if only a portion of the EH audience followed the series to a cable network, the numbers would be impressive in that market.
*The core cast is small and less tricky to reunite.
*It is a Jerry Bruckheimer production.

While all of the above are important, and you can use as many or as few as you would like, please realize that it is also a good idea to "speak from the heart" and explain what you love about the show. What kept you coming back week after week. What it brought to your life.

Third paragraph: Why their network? This is when you can explain why you would like EH on this specific network. It is a good idea to play to their strengths as a network. Most of the networks have specific tag lines such as TNT's "we know drama". Explain why their strengths and EH's strengths would all make a 'perfect fit'.

Last paragraph: Summarize your letter and re-state your request. Make sure that you also thank them for their time and consideration.

Your Viewer, (Just an example)

Your Name
Eleventh Hour Resurrection Campaign

Please understand that these are all just suggestions, and you can use or not use whatever you would like. Just try and use your own words and, again, have it come from your heart.

Quick Update!

ONE:

I added the taglines for each network on the main page of this Calendar. I did so in case any of you would like to personalize your emails/letters further.

If any of them are incorrect, or any of you can add to the ones that I did not know, please PM me and I will take care of it.

TWO:

If any of you guys get responses from any of the networks, please consider writing them back, even if their response is considered 'negative', aka, "sorry, we will be unable to pick up EH". There are several reasons for this:
*At the very least, we will be able to thank them for their response.
*It provides a means to have them reconsider our request.
*Depending upon what they have said in their email, you may be able to correct their perception, show your commitment, educate them on the success of the show, illustrate your passion, etc.

If you need any help with this, please let us all know. It is very important to show each and every network that we are absolutely committed to this and that we are not going anywhere.

Thank you!! :D

Hi! Hope you all are well. Another quick update here.

Thanks to our member kygal, I would like to request that everyone head over to the link below and appeal to Warner Brothers to release our beloved show's first season to DVD. We have waited long enough, haven't we?

So, head over there and let them know what we all want!

Hey! I forgot to pass this along when it happened, so here it is now. A fan of EH over on Facebook wrote this:

I made a twitition! That's a petition on twitter, btw. I don't know if any use will come of this, but it's worth a try! http://twitition.com/kflyd

There are only 9 signatures, but I don't think many people have seen it. If you can, head over there and sign. Why not, right? ;)

Thanks!

Okay, no UPDATE in quite a while, but this is an important one. It concerns the DVD and a few of our members have already mentioned this around the site, but I wanted to make another plea in an "official" Campaign update.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE head over to the Warner Brothers site here:
http://bit.ly/yh9DV

and WRITE A REVIEW. Whether you have purchased or not. Whether you are even able to or not. (Not in the US.) This is just another plan of action for the Campaign, and it is an important one at that. It is another way to get the attention of the "Big Guys", the ones who could make it all happen should they want to. JB, WB, any of the other executive producers, etc.

As for the content of the review, you do not have to own the DVD set to make one. Just tell them why you love the show and want it back. Just like many of us did at Amazon.

While we are all doing a great job as fans expressing our wishes, it would be nice to have a producer or two on our side, would it not? This is a potential way to get their attention. Please take the time to do this.

Finally, I have seen that a few of you are having trouble leaving a review. I, myself, have as well. Please keep trying. Others have been able to so maybe it is just a glitch or something that will work itself out with our persistence. And one thing I know about all of you guys is....you are all plenty persistent.

Thanks for all your hard work and I apologize ahead of time for the nagging. Keep up the faith! Image
