Famke's letter to JB

Postby luvinx » 27 May 2009, 20:51

Here is Famke's amazing letter to JB. Please read and let us know your thoughts. Without further ado:

June 17, 2009

Mr. Jerry Bruckheimer
Jerry Bruckheimer Films
1631 10th Street
Santa Monica, California 90404

Dear Mr. Bruckheimer,

All of us at the Eleventh Hour Resurrection Campaign would like to take this opportunity to express our unwavering support of your team at Jerry Bruckheimer Television and your brilliant collaboration with Stephen Gallagher: Eleventh Hour.

Eleventh Hour is the most thought-provoking and relevant show on television. The series is a perfect balance between intriguing and likable characters, fast-paced visual entertainment, and an insightful glimpse into moral and ethical scientific issues facing society today.

No other show pushes the envelope in this way, making its viewers ponder these very real issues facing society the way Eleventh Hour does.

Is this a formula for a successful show?

Eleventh Hour won its time slot nearly every Thursday, had continually rising audience test figures, and retained a steady average viewership of over twelve million people every week.

These statistics point clearly to the answer: Yes.

In continued support of JBTV, Warner Bros. Television, Stephen Gallagher, Rufus Sewell, Marley Shelton, and all the cast and crew involved, we at the Eleventh Hour Resurrection Campaign are currently hard at work driving for Eleventh Hour to be picked up by another network.

We want Eleventh Hour back.

We understand that the climate of American television is changing. It has been both a heartbreaking and exciting experience. It is accepted that changes need to be made across the board. However, Eleventh Hour cannot be a casualty of this transition. It cannot be discarded as a result of unfortunate timing. The concepts behind Eleventh Hour are vital and appropriate to our times, and, as a result, need to be shown. They are what the fans tune in for every week. We are aware that financial or other considerations might play a role in bringing this series back to where it belongs. However, we would hope that your recent experiences, especially in cable production, would help you to modify factors as needed to make a return of Eleventh Hour feasible.

We send our heartfelt thanks to everyone at JBTV for bringing Eleventh Hour to our televisions. There is no doubt that it will continue to be successful with your involvement, and that the program's already steadfast fan base will continue to expand and grow.

Very sincerely,

The Core Members of the Eleventh Hour Resurrection Campaign

For those of us that can't function with MS Paint (my signature looked like spaghetti in a blender when I tried), there are a couple of alternate means of getting your sigs in:

!) Beg, borrow, or steal use of a scanner if you don't have one yourself. This is probably the best way to get your *real* sig in.

2) If you have, or have access to, a decent digital camera, photograph your signature. Larger would probably work better, in order to give a higher chance of a good image. (I'm not suggesting signing you're neighbor's door, mind you, across a sheet of printer paper will probably do just fine!)

If the quality is crap with the digital camera, sign super large with a thick black sharpie - I can fix with my mad photoshop skills.

For the letter... brilliant! That's awesome!

What a lovely, fantastic letter. It really captures the essence of why we're doing this. Thanks, Famke, for all the time, effort, and heart you put into it.

I saw just two minor typos: In paragraphs 3 and 5, "it's" should be changed to "its" with no apostrophe.

I'll try to get my sig in tomorrow.

Hard not to notice. And there seems to be an epidemic of that going on around here. As one of the (I think) older, (definitely) wiser ;) folks around here, I recommend you all get some sleep once in a while!!! :)

On the other hand, Hood has insomnia too, so maybe if you keep up this insane pace he would be willing to pop in here and solve the mystery of why so many Hoodlums don't sleep. Yes, I think I like that idea better...

And... none of us sleep, not yet anyway. (I was so jazzed last night I was wide awake until 2 a.m.!)
