Oh I found it! And I did post... The nerve of that guide?
Sorry, but he does not know what he's talking about.
I'm furious.

And how about that other post you saw? Interesting, to say the least, if it is true. It would explain a lot.

Guys -

Facebook and I are having issues. (Long story involving my account being hacked). What is interesting if true?

I neither have nor want a FB page (although being able to 'like' EH is one thing that tempts me), but I am curious as to the happenings you're mentioning - I can look at the front page so I have seen The Remarkable Idiot's comments, but unfortunately I can't see Lourde's remark.

Ok - FB and I have declared a temporary truce. The interesting if true bit - someone who claims to related be to a show runner for EH says that CBS only put EH on the air because of a contractual issue with JB - CBS would have had to pay him a boatload of money by rejecting the show. The implication being that CBS never intended the show to go beyond one season.

I'm not sure that I buy that - they paid a LOT more for the show over the course of the season than they would have paid in penalties to JB. BUT I have always wondered if EH was a casualty of JB beginning a relationship with TNT. Could it be that someone at CBS was pissed at JB and cancelled two of his shows out of spite? (Dont' forget Without a Trace was also cancelled at the end of that season.)

Sorry to have been so vague guys. But Joyce said it all perfectly. I am skeptical as well but everything surrounding EH was so weird that it could fit.

Weird isn't the word for it. I mean, look at the way the DVD was distributed - it's as if someone didn't want it to make money. I was in Barnes and Noble recently browsing the DVD section and there was a DVD for some series (I can't remember which) that was fairly obscure and had only one season. And there is was for sale at B&N! I thougth to myself how could this piece of crap deserve a general release and EH not????

I do think that someone, somewhere had it in for EH from the very start.

Thanks for the info. Not sure I buy that story....but who knows! I do know...if what I read is true ...that CBS had a bidding war with ABC for EH and won out by paying ALOT of money for the rights to the show. I would think SG would be aware if the other occured. I still think CBS and JB and/or WB were having some type of war and EH and all of us are the victims. Sorry to sound so dramatic! Hope there was lots of support for the show on FB!

From Monday night's odds and ends entry at TV Tattler.com: 'Why "Hawaii Five-0" is a hit: "Viewers love its lack of [sic] subtletly and nuance." '

From SG in response to said comment: 'Sigh. I'll be in the pub.'

On the bright side, when the football game went over, CBS was forced to preempt CSI: Miami. There is a sliver of justice in the world after all. http://tvtattle.com/2010/11/08/monday-odds-ends-19/

That poor man. But I hope he realizes that things were just rigged and it is no reflection on him or his wonderful creation.

Hey guys! Got a wonderful email from SG today, wishing all of us the best in the coming year and touching base. PM me and I can give you more specifics. And be patient with me as I may not be on the computer much today. Also, I would just start PM-ing now, but I am nervous I will miss someone so this way I will not. Thanks!

So very interesting!

Oh, as well as heartbreaking, of course. :( *coughsecondseasoncough*

And lastly, it also makes me even more sure that, with his involvement, his series would have been exactly what we wanted, what we loved, and turned out just as great as what we talked about in all those chats.

I liked the addition of Felix and enjoyed the character...but more of him is not what I would have wanted to see in season two. I wanted more of the interesting storylines and the continuation of the Hood/Rachel relationship. I was interested to see what direction that took. Jacob Hood was such an interesting and well-portrayed character......and there could never be enough of RUFUS SEWELL. Shows you the mind set of CBS!

Slightly random, but figured I'd cross-post. Woke up in a bit of a silly/snarky mood this morning and, as usual, took it to Twitter. However, I wasn't the only one.

@brooligan [Stephen Gallagher]
I'll come out from under the pillow when GLEE goes away.

@LostInHeadSpace [Sarah H.]
@brooligan Glee has an anti-gay-bullying plotline! It's now politically correct!

@brooligan [Stephen Gallagher]
@LostInHeadSpace La la la la la la la la la la (fingers in ears)

Mature, isn't he? :lol: And I freely admit the series is idiotic (aside from the after-school special aspect of it, which is good), but I do enjoy it. As much as I love serious, edge-of-your-seat series like EH, beach-book series like Glee are a nice way to take the edge off sometimes.

I think he post something once in a very general way - something along the lines of Hood becoming more aware of how being on his detail affects Rachel and her life/career. If I'm remembering right he did hint pretty strongly that he had a good idea of where he wanted season 2 to go.

I do remember something about that. I think season 2 was already written. Do you all think he would have had Rachel and Hood hook up as a couple sometime during the series if it continued?? I thought he might around season 3 or 4, but who knows.

He was very hesitant to share anything, understandably, since he was still considering doing the show, if not in a TV format, possibly a miniseries, etc. I know when he had to pitch for Season 2, it was all set and planned. I don't think he gave any specifics at all.

As for getting Hood and Rachel together. Yes, it was going there. But he would have held out as long as he could since them getting together would have probably been the beginning of the end of the series, as we have seen so many times before.
