He he. I love how so many of us stuck to our guns and do not watch CBS. So many people said "you will never do that, it is just talk."

Not from us it aint!

When CSI finally dies, I will celebrate.

Sadly, yes, but it was preempted by football last night. I count that as a point in our favor.

Rufus is in a 3 episode series call Zen on bbc1. He plays an Italian detective. I have seen it with lots of help from my rooftop friends. It will be on masterpiece in late spring or summer here. It is a must see (have only seen epi 1 so far). His expressions will remind you so much of Jacob Hood. Hes sooooo fine wearing a suit!

Kygal,

Yes, Zen does remind me of times of Jacob. Both honest men trying to get to the bottom of a problem. I think both characters also share the same diffidence, sort of shyness that is adorable.

I completely agree kygal & joyce. In a way they are both "outsiders" looking in. Jacob not an actual FBI agent, and Aurelio not a corrupt game player. They both have their own way of doing things in a kind of quiet, determined, no fuss fashion. Both a bit reserved, both thinkers.

It's nice to see Aurelio be allowed to expand the quick witted humour that we saw glimpses of in Jacob but which i think Rufus was never allowed to show as much as he would have liked to. He always wanted EH to be funnier than it was and there was certainly the scope to inject more humour as a counterpoint to some of the dreadful cases that Jacob and Rachel had to deal with. One of my favourite scenes will always be in the airplane with the exploding ginger beer bottle, and the air hostess saying "they were in the galley, you know....." and jacob replying "what? making sandwiches?" in response to her hand gestures, leading on to the "don't knock it til you've tried it" comment to Rachel about the mile high club. It was a fantastic, funny scene and really showcased the naturalistic, quick witted, dry banter between them.

Oh and here's a nice picture of Aurelio Zen, he's a bit of a snappier dresser than our Jacob (being Italian of course), but still bites his bottom lip and has his hands in his pockets!!

You really, really need to download a program called ExPat Shield! It's a VPN that assigns you a UK IP address. That way you can watch Zen on the BBC iPlayer. It's freaking wonderful!

Poor Rufus! I cant believe this has happened again. Zen is ALSO a great show and Rufus is fantastic in it! Saw it online and have the region 2 dvd. There is hope of it going to another network because the producer is active in finding it another home....a luxury EH did not have. I may stop watching tv!

Yea, I didn't get a chance to see it but I figured it had to be somewhat good with him in it.

Wonder how he feels about TV now?

A gal at the RT keeps in touch with him and he says its part of the business. Seems he rolls with the punches! Hate that he does not get the repect he deserves.

This is going to come across as sarcasm, I realize, but it's not intended to be, and I have to ask - did he piss off a mambo or a witch at some point in his recent past? Because - again, not trying to be funny - I'm starting to wonder if he's been cursed.

I have to say I agree - that poor love is snake bit when it comes to his getting leading roles in TV series. Maybe it is karmic payback for his earlier interviews when he said he liked uncertainity????

Perhaps less karmic payback and more just 'be careful what you wish for.' Karmic payback would imply he'd done something awful to deserve this muck, possibly in a previous life. And while I don't like to believe the worst of dear Rufus, I suppose anything's possible....

I just think alot of it is the nature of this business... the entertainment industry. There are so many pilots that never make it to the tv screen and so many series that dont get picked up. Rufus seems to have had steady work over 20 some years and has had the luxury of working when he wants and choosing his unemployment times as he wants. Still...bad luck with EH and Zen....for whatever reason...who knows.
